Step by Step Tutorial For Making Money On The Internet - Finding Products
In the previous post, I gave an overview of the steps that will bring you anywhere from $2000 - $3000 or more a month in internet income. Now I am going to break down each of these steps into greater detail. We are going to start out with finding the right products to market. Keep in mind that this is NOT a get rich quick system, there is SOME work required.
We need to find some products to market, one place to start is at Clickbank . Sign up and get your affiliate ID. Once signed up go to the marketplace and search for products related to the niche that you are going to be marketing. You will need to find 5 or so products that you are going to market. How do you know which are the right products? You will need to do a little research. Here is how to do it:
When using Clickbank to find products they give you some stats for each of the products listed, these stats include:
$/Sale - Cost of the product
$ Earned/Sale - This is generally what your cut will be
% Earned/Sale - This is the % of the sale they are going to pay you
% Referred - This is what the % of sales are actual affiliate referrals
Gravity - Is basically how many affiliates have made sales with this product, this is not an actual number, it is a weighted figure. Basically the higher the gravity the more competition you have because of the amount of affiliates that are promoting the product.
One thing about gravity is that the higher the number it also means that this product is selling. Gravity should not be the sole factor for choosing which product you are going to promote.
You will want to view the sales page of the product and ask if it would make you want to buy the product.
Is the amount you will earn per sale high enough? I generally try to promote things that will get me $20 or more per sale. Remember the higher the cost of the product, the harder it is to sell.
One more thing about the sales page, does it give the purchaser plenty of opportunities to purchase the product? Make sure it has the option to buy on the sales page, this way you can be somewhat assured you will receive your commission.
Test out your affiliate link and make sure it goes all the way through to the buy. Your affiliate link should show up in your browser at all times while on that page.
Go through the list of products that come up in the particular niche you want to market and select 5 products to promote. Some of the best products to promote are those that have monthly fees, or recurring billing. This will bring in a monthly income as long as the person stays subscribed.
You will need to create a hoplink for each of the products you are going to promote. Copy and paste these into a text document for reference later on.
Clickbank is not the only gig in town, there are many other affiliate programs as well. Commission Junction, RocketProfit, LinkShare, etc…. There are hundreds of them out there. So if you cannot find a product at Clickbank try one of the other affiliate programs.
Next post will be about keyword research
