Baby Steps Approach to Making Money on the Internet
Folks, let me say this for those that are already “experts” and “gurus” in the internet marketing field, this blog probably isn’t for you. What this blog is, it is an introduction to making money on the internet. As we progress with this blog we will be getting into more advanced things. I have received a comment or two from obvious “gurus” criticizing the methods to date. I am going to break down one of the comments in particular and explain why this “guru” has not got the gist of this blog so far. The comment comes from someone named Klein.
Klein - “Bullshit. Anyone who would write quality articles would spend will over 10 minutes on just one article. And good luck sustaining traffic to a site once the effect of the social networking has worn off.”
You see, Klein here is several steps beyond where we are at with this blog. First point he is correct on. It does take more than 10 minutes to write a good quality article. Where he is missing the boat to this point is that we are not researching profitable niches and using articles to market our niche money making site yet. In fact, the only thing I have mentioned is blogging and writing easy “how-to” articles about things you are familiar with already. So, it may take a little more than 10 minutes to update your blog daily, my point was that it takes very little time. If you are blogging about something that you have first hand knowledge of, it should not be taking long to make a post. The second part of his statement is also correct IF we were working on a regular niche site. We are not at this point, we are blogging. You should be posting daily and social bookmarking each individual post daily, this will sustain your social networking traffic. Another benefit of social networking your posts is that it helps them get indexed quicker in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS).
A note about your blog, you should have your settings set to show only one post per page, this gives each individual post its own page. You should also have permalinks turned “ON”. Permalinks allow your posts to be more SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly. More about permalinks in a future post, just know for now that they need to be turned “ON”
I hope this post clarifies where we are at, at this point. For those that are “gurus” please don’t hesitate to comment, positive or negatively, every little bit helps to make this blog better and more useful. Comments are welcome by all.
